The Silence

Writer: Chad CoburnChad Coburn

I wake up to several missed calls from an unknown number. A chill runs down my spine.

I stretch and get an early start to my day, and find the window wide open. The neighbourhood is dead silent.

That's when I see it.

I try to run, but I am frozen in my tracks. I pinch myself to try and wake up but to no avail.

I scream as it hits me, pain ripping through my body.

A single tear sheds from my eyes as my vision goes blurry.
